阿布扎比国际机场首席运营官Ahmad Al Haddabi表示，2013年前11个月旅客流量与2012年同期相比增长12.2%，达到1500万人次。这样喜人的增长加强了阿布扎比国际机场在国际航空枢纽中的地位。

同时，阿布扎比国际机场还在对现有设施进行升级扩建，届时每年将有能力容纳旅客1700万人次。最新完工的设施是到达大厅，已于今年上半年正式开放。

Abu Dhabi Int'l sees 9.8% passenger growth in November

Abu Dhabi International Airport posted near-10 percent growth in passengers during November, its operator said on Tuesday.

Abu Dhabi Airports registered a 9.8 percent increase in passenger traffic for last month compared to the same period in 2012, totalling 1,330,378 passengers.

Aircraft movements increased by 10.7 percent reaching 11,856 while cargo traffic figures were also on the rise, with over 66,516 tonnes of freight handled throughout the month, recording a 33.3 percent increase compared to the same month last year.

The top five destinations in November were India, Germany, the UK, Thailand and Pakistan, the report said.

November's growth figure is well down on the previous month when Abu Dhabi International Airport registered a 15.8 percent surge in passenger traffic, driven by the Hajj and Eid season.

Ahmad Al Haddabi, chief operations officer of Abu Dhabi Airports, said: “With the increase of 12.2 percent in passengers passing through the airport in the last 11 months compared with the same period in 2012, reaching 15 million passengers to date for 2013, such growth reinforces the airport’s position as a growing international aviation hub.”

A capacity enhancement programme currently in progress will enable Abu Dhabi International Airport to accommodate more than 17 million passengers annually through enhancements to existing facilities, the most recent of these being the new Arrivals hall, which opened earlier this year.
