阿联酋航空与空客公司近日宣布完成谈判，签署了一项订购50架A380的合同。

该项合作在上月举办迪拜航空展时就已公布，合同价值230亿美元。这项合同使得阿联酋航空在这款世界最大飞机的订购量达到140架。

阿联酋航空公司总裁Tim Clark在访问空客法国图卢兹的总部时最终敲定了这份合同，“A380是我们的旗舰型飞机，非常受客户的欢迎，我们的业绩证明了这一点。这就是我们需要再增加50架A380的原因。”

Emirates firms up order for 50 more A380s

Emirates Airline and Airbus said on Monday that they have completed discussions and signed the firm contract for 50 additional A380s.

The deal, originally announced at the Dubai Airshow last month, is worth $23 billion at list prices and brings total orders from Emirates alone for the world's largest jetliner to 140 aircraft.

The contract documents were finalised by Tim Clark, Emirates Airline president, during a visit to Airbus’ Headquarters in Toulouse, France.

Clark said: “The A380 is our flagship aircraft. It is popular with our customers and delivers results for us in terms of operational performance. That is why we have ordered these additional 50 aircraft, to add to our A380 fleet.”

John Leahy, Airbus chief operating officer, Customers, added: “This order is a major vote of confidence in the A380. Since delivery of their first aircraft in July 2008, Emirates’ A380 fleet has grown to be the largest in the world with 44 A380s in operation.

 

US plane maker Boeing said last month that its orders and commitments at Dubai Airshow totalled $101.5bn, more than double that of its European rival Airbus.

In separate statements, the aircraft manufacturers revealed the number of orders secured at the show.

Boeing said its orders and commitments (excluding options and purchase rights) reached 342 airplanes, valued at $101.5bn.
