业内专家指出,吸引更多奢侈品牌进入卡塔尔,将有助于卡成为中东地区购物新天地。

卡塔尔购物中心总经理Donald Weir告诉Construction Week:“我们正在商谈的零售商中有很大一部分不仅是首次登陆卡塔尔,也是首次来到中东。我们对于这些品牌将在卡塔尔甚至整个中东地区零售领域的影响感到非常兴奋。”

同时,Weir补充道,在卡塔尔购物中心我们能看到奢侈品销售的市场潜力。机遇正确的措施及周边邻国,我们对于奢侈品的热销很可观,并预计将出现一个高峰期。我们非常自信卡塔尔购物中心在奢侈品销售上会让人惊叹。

卡塔尔购物中心面积达到40万平方米,设有商店400家,其中包括50个奢侈品牌和4个百货公司以及一家时尚主题酒店。

购物中心位于2022年世界杯7座场馆里其中1座附近,造价8.2亿美元,预计在店面装修方面还将花费约2.75亿美元。购物中心将于2015年9月完工。

Mall of Qatar targets new luxury brands for Middle East

Attracting luxury brands to Qatar will be key to making the country a shopping hotspot in the GCC, according to an industry professional.

Donald Weir, general manager of the Mall of Qatar, told Construction Week: “We are currently in discussion with a number of retailers who will not only be present in Qatar for the first time, but also completely new to the region and we are extremely excited about the role these brands will play in changing the retail space in Qatar and across the region.

“Here, at the Mall of Qatar, we see the potential in the market for luxury retail."

He added: “Done well, and given the right setting and adjacencies, we are positive that luxury retail will flourish and with an anticipated spike in disposable income we are confident that the luxury elements of the Mall of Qatar will do extremely well.”

The 400,000 square metre mall will comprise 400 shops, including 50 luxury brands and four department stores, as well as a fashion-themed hotel.

Located next to one of the seven planned 2022 World Cup stadiums and within the Al Rayyan Gate master planned community, it will cost $820m to build, with shops expected to invest a further QR1bn ($274.63m) in fit outs.

In October, it was reported that about 30 percent of construction was done with completion pegged for September 2015.
