原文：The Kingdom of Saudi Arabiahas announced plans to invest USD 109 billion to produce 41 gigawatts (GW) of solarenergy by 2032, which is almost 30 per cent of its total energy requirement bythat time. Over the next two decades, the government plans to establish energygeneration projects, which runs on photovoltaic cells (PV cells) with acapacity of 16 GW. In addition, it will also facilitate energy generationprojects that will make use of energy concentrate with a capacity of 26 GW. Allthese initiatives will boost the Kingdom’s potential for becoming the largestproducer of solar energy in the world.
Saudi Energy 2014 – The International TradeExhibition for Electricity, Power Generation, Alternative Energy, WaterTechnology and Lighting will take place in the kingdom to throw the spotlighton the latest products and services for the power sector. Held under thepatronage of the Ministry of Water and Electricity and organized by RiyadhExhibitions Company and Informa Exhibitions, Saudi Energy 2014 will be heldfrom May 26 to 28, 2014 at the Riyadh International Convention and ExhibitionCentre.
