全球最大太阳能海水淡化厂落户哈伊马角

据阿联酋设备供应商Utico透露，全球最大太阳能海水淡化厂将落户哈伊马角。

哈伊马角太阳能海水淡化厂将采用目前最先进的渗透和过滤技术。该太阳能海水淡化厂建成后能够日产饮用水2200万加仑，太阳能发电达到20MW，超过目前全球最大的沙特Al Khahji太阳能海水淡化厂，该厂尚处于建设中，预计2015年建成，建成后日产饮用水1000万加仑，发电量10MW。

Utico执行副主席Richard Menezes表示：“海湾国家全年都有充沛的阳光，我们将利用这些免费的能源，以最低的成本转换使用，为阿联酋民众服务。”

Menezes补充道：“该项目建成后，将成为海水淡化领域的新标杆，也将是全球二氧化碳排放量最少、最绿色环保的海水淡化厂。”

World's largest solar-powered desal plant for RAK

The world’s largest solar-powered seawater desalination plant is to be built in Ras Al Khaimah, local utility provider Utico Middle East has announced.

It will be capable of producing more than 22m gallons of potable water per day (MIGD) and 20 megawatts (MW) of solar power and will surpass the current record holder, Al Khafji plant in Saudi Arabia, which aims to generate 10 MIGD and 10MW once it is completed in 2015.

The new project aims to implement the most advanced reverse osmosis and filtration technologies, and should push unit production rates down drastically when operational.

“The GCC has an abundance of sunshine throughout the year and our aim will be to harness this free energy and channel it to UAE residents at extremely low cost,” Emirates News Agency reported Richard Menezes, executive vice-chairman of Utico Middle East, as saying.

Menezes added that the project would set the new benchmark for the desalination business model and will be the world’s greenest desalination plant with the least CO² emissions.
