法国阿尔斯通集团宣布交付Al Sufouh有轨电车体系中11辆Citadis电车中的首辆电车。Al Sufouh有轨电车体系项目是迪拜道路交通管理局提高迪拜公共交通的重要项目之一。

阿尔斯通负责Al Sufouh项目的Citadis电车供应、轨道铺设、信号、通信系统、集成操控中心和票务系统等，并且为整个交通项目提供为期13年的维护服务。

迪拜Citadis电车长44米，能够同时运载408人。迪拜有轨电车是首条能够适应海湾热带极端天气的新一代电车，电车能够忍受超过50摄氏度的高温、高湿度和沙尘气候。

电车在2014年开始运行后，预计每天运送乘客2万7千人，2020年这一数字将增至6万6千人。

设计线路长16公里，是世界上首条全线采用地面电源，取消车顶天线的有轨电车。项目第一阶段长10.6公里，11个车站，造价40亿迪拉姆。项目全部完工后，该电车线路将沿着谢赫扎耶德路与迪拜地铁有三个交汇站。

France's Alstom confirms delivery of first Dubai tram

French firm Alstom confirmed on Wednesday that it has delivered the first of the 11 Citadis trams to Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) for the Al Sufouh tram system.

Alstom is responsible for the design, integration and supply of this turnkey tramway project, which includes the supply of Citadis trams, track laying, signalling, communications systems, integrated operation control centre, platform screen doors and ticketing system.

Alstom will also be responsible for the maintenance of the transport system for a period of 13 years, the company said in a statement.

Dubai’s tram is the first tram with tropicalised next-generation equipment adapted to the extreme weather conditions of the Gulf, including temperatures above 50° C, high humidity and sand, Alstom said.

The tram is expected to lift about 27,000 riders per day at the start of operations in 2014, and the ridership is bound to hit 66,000 riders per day by 2020.

Designed to stretch 14km along Al Sufouh Road, the tram is set to be the world’s first to run with ground power feeding the entire line, eliminating the need for overhead wires.

The first phase of the project will span 10.6km and cost AED4bn, and will see 11 of the network’s 17 stations open to the public.

On completion, the tram will link with the Dubai Metro at three stations along Sheikh Zayed Road and will also tie-up with the monorail on the Palm Jumeirah.
