作为世界上的老牌保险公司——印度保险公司宣布将在迪拜国际金融中心设立中东分部。
由印度政府控股的新印度保险公司表示此举是整体战略的一部分以增强在该区的市场份额。
公司董事长兼总经理克斯里尼瓦桑表示：“中东，尤其是海合会成员国对于我们来说是一个巨大的市场，我们的重点将会逐渐投放到这个市场，为该地区的跨国客户提供我们的产品。”

One ofthe world's oldest insurance firms has announced plans to open a Middle East hub in Dubai International Financial Centre(DIFC).
New IndiaAssurance Co Ltd, which is owned 100 percent by the Government of India, saidthe move is part of its strategic move to enhance its footprint in the region.
GSrinivasan, chairman and managing director, said: "Middle East, particularly GCC, is a significant market for us and ourfocus will now be to increase our presence in this market and to grow ourbusiness by offering our products to a multinational clientele in theregion."
Thecompany's immediate plan includes concentrated growth in retail segment onpersonal lines of business like health, personal accident and home protection,he said.
He addedthat the company's business in the GCC in terms of gross premium totalledAED700 million last year, with further growth forecast this year.
"[Thecompany] declared 110 percent dividend to its shareholders last year and isconfident that with the strong economic trends and boom in sectors likeproperty and construction, we are bound to grow further."
New IndiaAssurance Co Ltd operates in 23 countries and globally, the company's businesslast year was to the tune of AED8.9 billion.
Srinivasansaid: "We have an appetite for aviation insurance and the company looks atDubai as apotential growth market in that sector. For us, Dubai is also the major hub fordoing offshore oil and energy insurance of the company。”
