Buildingsin Dubai have been evacuated after tremors werefelt from an earthquake originating in Iran.
The quake measured 5.2 on the Richter scale and its epicentrewas in southern Iran,according to the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre.
It hit at 9.44am Dubai time about157 kilometres north-east of Dubai.
Workers in Dubaihave reported feeling tremors, with dozens of buildings evacuated.
Nofatalities or injuries have been reported.
It is the second significant earthquake to produce tremors inthe Gulf in the past year, after more than 40 people died in a quake in Iran on April26 last year, which led to thousands of people being evacuated in Gulf cities.
