迪拜工业城总经理Abdulla BelHoul表示，由于迪拜当地和国际业务的持续发展，迪拜工业城已接近饱和，迫使工业城必须着手开始下一个阶段工程，其中项目包括仓库、基础设施和住房。
2013年迪拜工业城仓库存储量已达到95%，需增加存储量10%-20%。
“我们的业务伙伴每年都在增加，仓储容量已快到极限，因此我们需要增加投资以满足发展需求。而且随着经济不断发展，工业城的人口也在迅速增加。交通和食品领域同样需要增加供应。”
迪拜工业城是迪拜第二大非房地产项目，目前占地55平方公里，进驻公司150家，员工36000人。
如果迪拜成功申办2020年世博会，迪拜工业城将迎来新一轮发展。工业城能提供一切所需的存储、物流、运输、住宿等服务。
Dubai's DIC to begin expansion next year
Dubai Industrial City will begin an expansion mid next-year, managing director Abdulla BelHoul told our sister publication Arabian Business.
Demand from both local and international businesses had pushed the DIC almost to capacity and forced it to prepare for its next phase, including new warehouses, infrastructure and housing, BelHoul said.
DIC warehouses are at 95% capacity and the city is expecting to record 10-20% growth this year.
“So this is pushing us to build more projects because we see a good demand for the market,” BelHoul said.
“We are almost there in terms of capacity because our number of business partners has been increasing year by year, so this requires from us a bit more investment to meet the demand.
“I think we’ll aim [to begin the expansion] mid-next year.”
“For sure, DIC will be the preferred location for all the new projects coming up here, especially the new [facilities for the World Expo],” BelHoul said.
“DIC can facilitate all their needs and requirements when it comes to warehousing, logistics, transport, labour accommodation ... all these facilities will be available to the contractors and the suppliers who will be contributing to the construction of Expo 2020.”
