混凝土公司前景一片大好

一位建筑专家表示，卡塔尔混凝土和水泥行业正处在黄金期。卡塔尔有大量基础工程在建，如高速公路、地铁、港口等。而且未来几年还将有大量工程陆续开建，仅仅这些就需要上百万吨混凝土。

卡塔尔Readymix总经理兼副总裁Andy Paylor说：“我认为混凝土行业前景一片大好。很多项目都即将开始，相当一部分都和世界杯以及2030年国家规划有关。我们明显感觉到建筑业对混凝土行业的刺激，我们也期待明年会有更令人兴奋的事发生。”

另外，今年二月份，为保证混凝土符合卡塔尔建筑标准和规格，卡塔尔环保部加强了石灰和花岗岩供应商的监管，这两种物质是混凝土混合物里的重要物质，次品的材料会使路面和建筑物产生裂缝。

Paylor表示，很多公司都想在混凝土市场分得一杯羹，卡塔尔质量监督机构现在正努力保证产品质量，他们会前往工厂检测供应商的产品。这将使很多公司被踢出市场，除非他们提高自己的产品质量。

Outlook 'really bright' for concrete firms

Qatars concrete and cement markets are in line for a successful period, according to an industry professional.A number of infrastructure contracts including the highways, metro system and port  have been awarded in Qatar, with many more to come in the next few years, with millions of tonnes of concrete to be used.

“I would say the outlook is really bright,” said Andy Paylor, GM and vice president of Readymix Qatar.

“A lot of work is going to be beginning very soon, with much of it tied up with the World Cup and the 2030 Vision.

“We have seen a really strong pick up in the number of enquiries weve had regarding construction activity and, with regards to concrete, I’m expecting big things over the next 12 months.”

In February, The ministry of Environment in Qatar said it had intensified its monitoring of suppliers of limestone and ghabroo (black granite) two major substances used in concrete mixturesin order to ensure they meet the required Qatari building standards and specifications, as substandard materials could lead to cracks in roads and buildings.“There are more than companies trying to find some share in the market and with the Ashghal projects, Qatars standards organisations are now pushing quality by going to companies and auditing and testing their products.“I think it is a move which will either push people out of the market or force them to improve their standards.”
