未来六年内沙特拟投资1340亿美元于电力能源项目,以期实现该国发电量49%的增长率。
沙特仅2012年一年电力项目投资额就高达375亿美元；而为了满足需求，到2015年沙特必须保证发电量13%的年增长率。2013年沙特电力能源展组委会更是表示，未来随着国内人口的不断增长以及宏观经济的长足发展，沙特市场前景一片光明。
沙特电力能源展项目经理Khaled Daou称，沙特是区域经济头号大国，目前正出于经济结构改革期，人口不断增长且年轻化，加上商业环境日益多元化，这种种因素都刺激着沙特必须将能量产出值提高到前所未有的水平。
“到2022年，沙特全国各地将开展电力能源项目，总投资将增长3000亿里亚尔（800亿美元）。”

Saudi Arabia is set to spend $134bn onelectricity projects over the next six years as it seeks to grow generatingcapacity by 49%.
The Kingdom, which has spent $37.5bn onelectricity projects in the last year alone, needs to increase capacity by atleast 13% a year until 2015 inorder to meet demand. Moreover, the organiser of the Saudi Energy 2013 tradeshow argues that with a burgeoning population and strong macroeconomic growthpredicted for the Kingdom's economy, the market has a strong outlook.
Khaled Daou, project manager of the Saudi Energyconference, said: “Factors such as a region-leading economy, ongoing structuralreforms, a growing and young population and a diversifying business landscapeare all boosting KSA’s demand to raise its energy output to unprecedentedlevels.
"By 2022, we could see electricityprojects collectively worth SR: 300bn ($80bn) up and running across thecountry."
The Saudi Energy show takes place from May26-29 at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
